Corundum Crucible and Graphite Crucible
Corundum crucible
A crucible containing more than 95% alumina is called a corundum crucible.
1. Corundum crucible is composed of porous fused alumina, which is strong and resistant to melting.
2. Corundum crucible is suitable for melting samples with some weak basic substances as flux, but not suitable for melting samples with strong basic substances such as Na2O2, NaOH and acid substances such as K2S2O7.
Graphite crucible
The main raw material of graphite crucible is crystallized natural graphite. Therefore, it maintains the original physical and chemical properties of natural graphite.
Graphite crucible has good thermal conductivity and high temperature resistance. In the process of high temperature use, the coefficient of thermal expansion is small, and it has certain strain resistance to rapid heat and cooling. Strong corrosion resistance to acid and alkaline solutions and excellent chemical stability.
Graphite crucible, because of the above excellent performance, so in metallurgy, casting, machinery, chemical and other industrial departments, is widely used in the smelting of alloy tool steel and non-ferrous metal and its alloy melting. And has better technical and economic effect.
